UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND FOR TICKETS

Maybe the recession is causing people to be more selective in their choice of entertainment, but demand for tickets for this year’s bard finals is the heaviest ever.  Literally hundreds of people are left disappointed this year at being unable to secure that precious gem of a ticket.  As stated on many occasions the best time to look for tickets is early September when they are distributed to the various venues.

The unique event that is the Bard has tapped into a rich vein of creativity which had been dying until the festival was set up eighteen years ago.  The event has proven time and time again that there is a movement away from the international garbage bin back to the creative energy of the local people.

It is the overall sense of occasion that stirs the people’s imagination year after year.  This is home brew par excellence, the art of the people, that no imported art can touch.  Friday’s much awaited finals will live up to expectations and the City Hotel will once again pulsate and palpitate to the sound of the bards.
